ABSTRACT

The development of human organ transplantation technology has brought the hope of rebirth to countless patients with organ failure. Human organ donation and transplantation need the joint efforts of various levels of Red Cross societies, human organ procurement organizations, medical institutions, etc. Medical social workers, as new forces, are gradually playing their own role. By summarizing the professional advantages of medical social work in organ donation after citizen’s death, this paper proposed that medical social workers can provide professional services for donors and their families through practical work, such as clarifying their willingness to donate and providing crisis intervention services to their families, assisting them in completing donation matters and holding farewell ceremonies, and following up and carrying out grief counseling activities. Regarding the problems encountered in practice process, suggestions were proposed to expand the scale of medical social workers and improve their management, increase social awareness of medical social work, and provide all-round support for the implementation of later service.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the practice of humanistic care and social worker voluntary service in public hospitals in China.Methods:From January to March 2021, 38 typical cases concerning " medical social worker and volunteer system" and " building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship through humanistic service" were collected by relying on the evaluation of China Healthcare Improvement Initiative. By means of statistics on the frequency of the subject words in the cases, hotspots of these hospitals in " paying attention to medical humanistic care and promoting social work voluntary service" were identified.Results:By classifying the keywords of the 38 cases, the hotspots mainly focused on strengthening the construction and management of social work volunteer platform and team, providing convenient and high-quality services, integrating humanistic care into diagnosis and treatment services, and building characteristic brand projects.Conclusions:The concept of humanistic care should be integrated into the hospital culture construction, the standardized and institutionalized development of humanistic care and volunteer work in the hospital should be promoted. Supporting measures should be introduced to promote the professional and stable development of talent team, and the routine service system should be established based on the needs assessment of both doctors and patients.

ABSTRACT

Overall progress of the Healthy China initiative highlights the importance of medical humanities in the connotation construction of health services, hence making standardized construction and effective governance of medical social workers a focus of the current healthcare reform. This study summarized the practices of medical social workers engaged in the cabin hospital in Wuchang district, Wuhan city, Hubei province during the outbreak of COVID-19. Their efforts aimed at reducing the stress faced by front-line medical workers, and assisting the patients to achieve body-mind balance for better treatment outcomes." Online+ offline" and" in-cabin+ out-of-cabin" service teams were organized to assist these medical staff, provide social support, and integrate resources. The study analyzed the problems and challenges in the process of practice, and provided a reference for further improving the management of public health emergency services.

ABSTRACT

Medical social work is an important component in the modern health care system. As an important medium and bridge between medical staffs and patients, medical social worker get involved in the field of communi-cation between doctors and patients with professional methods and path of social work, so as to improve doctor-pa-tient relationship and promote the harmony and stability of doctors and patients. In clinical practice, medical social workers actually encountered various dilemmas, such as the difficulties of medical teams' integration, lack of medi-cal expertise, the shortage of personnel allocation. Combined with the actual situation of social work development, this paper explored and gradually formed a new auxiliary mode for medical social workers in children' s special hos-pitals-medical social workers assistant. After some medical staffs are trained in social work knowledge, case refer-ral, intern band education, advocacy of social work concept and other work are conducted in the ward. And the practical experience and effectiveness are discussed and summarized and the future development is made a pros-pect.

ABSTRACT

Otbjective:To provide body-mind-spirit-society holistic services for patients,through medical social workers intervening in chronic pain patients and using the professional theory of social work.Methods:By serving the patients and the potential people with community work,group work and case work,this paper explored the tertiary prevention mode for chronic pain patients,and then to intervene in their social psychosocial problems caused by pain and improve their quality of life.Results:Medical social workers intervening in chronic pain patients'social psychosocial problems made a difference.Through combining the prevention model with the three methods of social work,the service scope was expanded and the effectiveness was improved significantly.Conclusion:Under the guidance of tertiary prevention theory,this paperhas explored a set of models to intervene in chronic pain patients' social psychological health,which is of great significance to mitigate chronic pain patients' social psychological problem.

ABSTRACT

In China, health care system is not perfect,the trust is lack between doctors and patients. Introdu-cing medical social workers to hospitals is to manage social resources as a whole, optimize medical treatment service process,enhance the quality of medical service, and relieve the pressure of doctors and nurses. Under this back-ground, this paper gave an overview of the medical social work and its contents. Then, it analyzed the necessity of introducing medical social workers to hospitals and pointed out the existing plight of medical social work. Finally, it put forward the suggestions and countermeasures to promote medical social work.

ABSTRACT

During the long treatment period (from the treatment of early stage to rehabilitation), burn patients have experienced many problems that they cannot handle it. It is very important as to overcome psychosocial problems of burn patient as to get treatment. The social work intervention for burn patients is so necessary for psychosocial problems solving; this intervention require to support by family. Depending on burn treatment procedure, and patient's social status, each burn patients have different symptom of psychosocial problems. Medical social workers work through different method of intervention that included casework, group work, connecting community resource and etc.
